This position report directly to management of Ascension Construction Solutions.
Ascension Construction Solutions is seeking an experienced Carpenter to perform high-quality carpentry work on commercial construction projects. This role is critical to ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence on self-perform projects. The Carpenter will execute a wide range of tasks including framing, formwork, finish work, and installation of structural and architectural elements. Strong craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment are essential.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Perform all carpentry tasks with precision, safety, and integrity.
- Execute framing, formwork, finish carpentry, and other structural tasks on self-perform construction projects.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other trades to ensure timely and quality completion of work.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Verify work quality meets contract specifications and building codes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- May be required to perform night shift work.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed.

- Proficiency in metal stud and wood framing, drywall hanging, finish carpentry, and concrete formwork.

| Skills/Experience Needed: | TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood, metal studs, and other materials for walls, floors, ceilings, and fixtures.
- Install doors, windows, cabinetry, and trim.
- Construct and dismantle scaffolding and temporary structures.
- Perform minor concrete work including formwork and finishing.
- Hang and finish drywall; install acoustic ceilings.
- Complete small flooring projects (hardwood, tile, carpet squares, LVT).
- Operate hand and power tools including saws, drills, nail guns, and levels.
- Assist in demolition and site preparation tasks.
- Ensure work meets quality standards and building codes.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Perform other duties or special projects assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50–60 pounds.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces while wearing proper fall protection.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Navigate uneven ground and active construction sites safely.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Active construction sites with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy equipment.
- May require travel between job sites.
- Outdoor weather conditions and environmental hazards.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years of carpentry experience in commercial or residential construction.
- Valid driver<'>s license and reliable transportation; clean MVR required.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
